This is one of my earlier alkyd paintings, and depicts my son, Scott pulling a spritsail skiff into deeper water. I posed Scott on dry land and put his figure into this scene. The area of the painting is Taylor's Creek in Beaufort, North Carolina. Carrot Island, where herds of wild ponies can often be seen, is in the background . Also seen in the background are several spritsail skiffs with their sails raised. The painting appeared in an article on my work in the July 1979 issue of Wildlife In North Carolina.
