This
painting and , "Caught In The Surge Off Great Wass" were two of a pair
of small rough-water paintings I did for the Mystic Maritime Gallery. Later,
they were sold separately.
Recall and imagination are required for such paintings. You cannot do paintings
on the spot in such conditions. I try to recall the times I've been fishing
on the Gulf Stream during stormy conditions. This is not difficult, as
I usually get extremely seasick. However, I still try to observe the water
and the effect of hydralics on a boat in such storms. I have always liked
storms, but dislike the effect they have on me!
