This small 6" X 13 1/2" painting was chosen for the 2001 "Art of the Sea"
calendar by the National Maritime Historical Society. Thepainting is the
last one in the calendar under the month of December. The painting, as
it appears in the calendar, is only 1" smaller than the original.
A painting such as this could be classed as a miniature. It is actually
one of a pair, however, the two paintings were sold separatelyand at different
times. Once again, it depicts a Jonesport lobsterboat in a rough sea off
the Maine Coast...in this case, Greater Wass Island near Beal's Island,
Maine.
